Absolutely wonderful resort. Beautiful location, design, and rooms. The restaurants are all
nice, but the signature restaurant is outstanding. The rooms are large, comfortable, and with
great baths(first floor rooms have both a regular shower and a private outdoor garden shower).
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Multiple pools allow for people with different
needs and wants to get the environment they desire (our favorite was the quiet adults only
pool). On the sunniest coast of all of the Hawaiian Islands.
Not much in the way of negatives. The beach is beautiful, but not really swimmable due to coral
and high seas (in winter). The grounds are spread out witch took some getting used to, but
enjoyed the beautiful walks in the end. But the staff use golf carts to get around and this
did get annoying (although they always gave us a friendly "aloha" as they went past. And
finally the spa is outstanding. Great services, private TV on every exercise machine, great
massages, and nice design. This was our first time there, but we already have reservations
for next year!

Four Seaons Resort Hualalai, Big Island, Hawaii
This is a cleverly designed hotel with individual smaller buildings clustered into four semi-circles. One surrounds the kids' pool and one surrounds an adults-only oasis of quiet. The rooms are lavish, including some with outdoor showers surrounded by lava. Meticulously maintained grounds, exemplary service, the best and most helpful conceirge staff I've ever encountered, virtually flawless.
The seaside restaurant, Pahu i`a is one of the dining highlights of Hawaii. Call early and ask for a table on the patio prior to sunset for a truly unforgettable experience. The golf course is one of the best and the spa is always tops. Also, don't miss the feeding of the rays at the snorkel pool. It is billed for children, but also delighted this overgrown child.
