Alexandra Resort and Spa in Turks and Caicos Islands
We stayed 9/27 to 10/4
Had a two bed two bath condo.
This new resort is absolutely beautiful and sits on a white powdery beach just a 30 second stroll from your room. It features all the bells and whistles you can imagine. It has a washer/dryer, full kitchen, all the necessary items to cook, if you desire, you won't want to w/the fabulous restaurants near by, three TV's, AC,fans in all the rooms, huge patio w/comfortable furniture that faces the most glorious sunsets you'll ever see. The staff was very helpful/friendly in making dinner reservations, tennis court time and general suggestions to enhance our trip. The resort is well kept and the landscaping is beautiful. It will be a real treasure when it is completed.
A car is necessary to see the island and I would suggest Tropicale as the car of choice. They met us promptly as our plane arrived, and when we departed we parked the car, handed the keys to the toll booth attendant and boarded our flight. No hassles w/the car or getting a ride to the airport. We were 15 feet away.
The BEST time to go is in the fall. No one was there and we had the beach to ourselves. You can walk for 50 yards before you even see another person. The water temperature had to be 85 degrees w/visibility so you could see a freckle on your toe! There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Towels are provided at the pool or beach area.
The one down side was that construction was going on next door to our property. It was a bit noisy at times and dusty, but it did not dampen our spirits or vacation even for a moment. Get there before the rest of the world finds out about this place. They have studios up to 4 bedrooms to rent. We rented ours thru Interval International and got the steal of the century, in our opinion. Get there before the crowds show up!!!!!!
