MGM Grand, Las Vegas I have stayed in a half dozen Vegas hotels and this one is my favorite. Our room was huge with a gorgeous view. Also, I loved the swimming pools (4-5 pools) nestled in the meandering gardens. The casino was not my favorite, but who gambles in their home casino anyways?? Room rate is VERY reasonable.

I am with the guy saying that big and impersonal is hogwash. I am not sure what people want when they say this. If you do any research at all you know that the MGM is THE LARGEST HOTEL IN THE WORLD, or did you miss that fact. Not to mention, when you go to a place like Las Vegas, EVERYTHING is going to try to be large and over the top specifically to compete with the MGMs, Bellagio's, and Luxors. I stayed in spring of 2003 and found the hotel to have a very wide variety of settings and activities inside its huge shell, and that was great. service was very good, food was good, but not great, and it was great having multiple entrance points to get out of the heat once you were headed back to the room to change or something. I was a bit disappointed with the room size as my friend and i got what was designated a suite, but it wasnt the size of a normal suite found in say, Rio. Other than that it was a nice stay even if just for the experience. Now i am going to go somewhere more 'personal' like a caribbean island resort...but in vegas, i want over-the-top and MGM delivered for us.

MGM Grand- Las Vegas First of all I live in NYC. I already ive in big and inpersonal. When I travel I don't want big or inpersonal I want nice an personal. The MGM Grand is just too big. The staff there is great and they really wanted my stay to be a good one but I just couldn't feel comfortable looking at signs in order to get anywhere I needed to go. Give me a smaller cozier hotel when I travel.

MGM Grand. Las Vegas
I am SOOOOO SICK!!! of reading such as this: "nice but too big and impersonal". Then....all of you who want to be in Mayberry with Andy/Aunt Bee/Opie....stay home and go to a bed and breakfast. by the way, I love the Andy Griffith show....but do not and don't expect it in Vegas!!!! The casino has something for everyone. And NO posers anywhere. No intimidation!!!! I stayed there one year ago in March (2002) and am more than happy to return this July. 2003 Roooms: Superb. In the Tower. help: I left 2 of my beloved sweaters there. I called one week later, after I realized this. The housekeeping person had them shipped instantly!!!!!! the Spa is superb. LOVE IT!!! The casino has something for everyone. And.....IT IS NOT INTIMIDATING!!!!! So....those of you who want "intimacy"...or are too lazy to walk a little bit: stay at your local riverboat casinos. ETC!!! Since when is a trip to Vegas supposed to be cozy?????!!!! MGM: Way to go. Feel free to dispute this. The pool area is superb.

MGM Grand
As you can imagine, one of the largest hotels in the world can be somewhat impersonal and intimidating. We were upgraded upon checkin which was nice, and enjoyed the dining options and the top quality show, EFX. Overall, however, the sheer size of the property was a negative.
