Chaa Creek - San Ignacio, Belize
If you like well manicured lawns and picture perfect panoramic views of Eden, this is the
place....if you want to rough it a bit....then it isn't. The cottages ($160/night) are
roomy and peaceful (no TV or phones) and because of their design invite the odd gekko in,
to keep watch over you while you sleep (they don't bite). I recommend their spa which
overlooks just the most serene view and by the time you get off the table from your massage..
..
it's all you can do to walk back to your cottage. For those who like the outdoors, the 2-1/2
hour horseback ride through the jungle,is worth a nod even for the novice horseman, and very
reasonably priced ($40). The food however is nothing special and a bit pricey. If your stay
is more than a few days, I recommend a night out in the city. The sunset canoe trip was
quiet...got to see lots of heron and iguana. Overall, I felt rested and refreshed after
my visit there and recommend it for those seeking a respite from the daily grind.
